Art History Brown Bag Series
Monthly (First Wednesday) 2008 dates – 6/4, 7/2, 8/6, 9/3, 10/1, 11/5, 12/3

Whether you’re an art historian or just enjoy a beautiful painting, the Heard-Craig Art History series will heighten your appreciation of art and provide insight into the mind of the artist. The lectures are presented by Annie Royer who has been a studio and decorative painter/muralist for 16 years. Ms. Royer has a fine arts degree from Austin College; and has earned three Master’s Degrees from Yale University in Religion and the Visual Arts, East Asian Studies and the history of art. The programs are designed to fit within a lunch hour so that even the busiest person can attend. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch. All programs are free.

Tea & Conversation
June 11, 2008

Afternoon tea featuring delicious desserts and other sumptuous delights will follow a program “Adventures in Jewelry” by jewelry designer, Mary Anne Carpenter. Guests are encouraged to linger over tea and enjoy conversation with friends. A tour of the historic Heard-Craig House will complete the afternoon. The cost is $15 for Heard-Craig League members and $20 for non-members. Reservations are required.

Tea & Conversation

Today’s program, entitled “Audrey Hepburn,” will be presented by Sarah Grant Reid. Guests are encouraged to linger over tea and enjoy conversation with friends. A tour of the historic Heard-Craig House will complete the afternoon. This program will be held in Heard-Craig Hall at 306 North Church Street. The cost is $15 for Heard-Craig League members and $20 for non-members. Reservations are required.

Heard-Craig Historic Walking Tour & Luncheon
October 4, 2008
10:00 a.m

The Heard-Craig Center for the Arts will host a walking tour of McKinney’s historic residential district followed by a luncheon in the Carriage House. The walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be led by Guy Giersch, McKinney Historic Preservation Officer, who will provide the historic commentary during the tour. The tour will begin at the Heard-Craig Carriage House at 205 West Hunt Street in McKinney. Tickets for the tour and lunch are $25 per person. The tour is a fund-raiser for the preservation of the historic Heard-Craig properties. Reservations are required and spaces are limited. For more information, call the Heard-Craig at 972-569-6909.

Holiday Tea & Conversation

The gifted MISD choir under the direction of Steve Garms will visit with their annual holiday musical program. Chef Joan Matlock will once again provide afternoon tea specialties featuring delicious desserts and other sumptuous delights. Guests are encouraged to linger over tea and enjoy conversation with friends. A tour of the historic Heard-Craig House will complete the afternoon.
