Artist Eligibility
Open to all Artists. Submission rules and artwork requirements must be followed.
Artwork Submission Rules

Artwork must reflect the 2018 theme, “Colors of the Wind”

Artwork, Artist information and digital photos (.jpegs) must be submitted by the deadlines.

Artwork must meet one of the following two size requirements (check the size, below, for which you are submitting):
______ 19 ¾ x 27 ½
______ 16 x 20 (for a 15 ¼ x 19 ¼ mat opening)

All artwork must be 2 dimensional. Artwork can be any of the following:
Pencil
Pen and Ink
Charcoal
Pastels
Watercolor
Paper Collage

May 30, 2018 at 5:00 PM: Deadline for digital photos (.jpegs) to be submitted to executivedirector@heardcraig.org. Digital Photos must be emailed and the following pieces of information, and payment, can be made below:

Note: Digital photographs (.jpegs) (3) must be suitable for use in judging and for use in promotional materials.

Details
June 1 – June 22, 2018: Selection of 25 pieces by U.S. Fine Arts contacts (UT Dallas, Collin College, Austin College)
June 25 – 29, 2018: Artists will be notified if selected. Artists not able to be contacted during this week will have their work disqualified from the 2018 gallery submissions.
July 2-6, 2018: Artwork must be delivered to the Heard-Craig before 5:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2018.
July: Pieces delivered to Freya Frahm Haus cultural events center.
Gallery Showings
Submitting artists agree that, if selected, their work will be displayed for at least 2-3 months. See below:
August 3 – August 24, 2018: Work is shown in Freya Frahm Haus for public viewing, for artist reception, for city/county/country officials viewing, and for viewing during other important community-wide events.
September 4, 2018 to October, 2018: Work is shown in the Heard-Craig Center for the Arts for public viewing, for artist reception, for city/county/country officials viewing, and for viewing during other important community-wide events, specifically the McKinney Oktoberfest September 21-23, 2018.
FEES
$10 per submission. All artists are invited to submit according to the artwork and submission requirements.
Artist Reception
All submitting artists (regardless of selection) will be invited to attend
an opening reception for the gallery show. The opening reception will
be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the
Heard-Craig Center for the Arts.
Copyright Agreement
All artists retain the copyright on their art images of their artwork
but agree that the artwork images can be used for publicity with the
artist’s name in conjunction with the SCHÖN EVERYWHERE event and
with Heard-Craig events.
